Truth? and First Impressions

Sometimes I wonder how truthful I really am. Most of the time what I say is the truth, but there are quite a few times that I don’t say everything. It is the truth if you leave things out. What would it be like if I said everything that I felt all of the time? Probably get me in some trouble.

The other thing that is bothering me is that sometimes I believe that I don’t make a good first impression. Usually people like me after they know me, but not so when they first meet me. I think it is because I joke around a lot. Sometimes if you don’t know I am joking then it comes across wrong. Either that or I am just a jerk sometime. Maybe I’ll work on that.

Feel free to leave comments about your first impressions of me. Just wondering how I come across, maybe I am just paranoid.

Elsinore

Had so much fun tonight. I was tired and not feeling well, so I thought about not going. I am so glad that I got my ass out to go. Liam and Savannah are moving up to Chicago, so it was their last show. Glad that I got the chance to say good-bye. Ryan and the boys are amazing. The put on one of the best live shows in town. Fell in love with them during their first Rehearsal Space residency in January. They keep on getting better and better all of the time. Check them out on MySpace.

Biscuits with Bullock, New Movie

Someone pointed out that Sandra Bullock is quoted as saying she loves Fried Chicken with Biscuits and Gravy. This life goal of having biscuits with Bullock might be easier than I thought. She already loves biscuits, so how hard could it be to get her to have them with me?

Working with Eleanore on a new idea for a short film. It is just the beginning, but it looks good so far. Need to keep working on it and get it done.

Principled Politician

I want to see a principled politician. How does this happen? Elections are won by whoever can raise the money. Most of the money comes from businesses that have a vested interest that is different from the common man. This puts politicians at odds with the people who elect them. Principles become less important than money and continued time in government (power). We either need to move the money out of politics or get politicians willing to do the right thing no matter what the consequences. I don’t see either happening anytime soon.

I realize that there are differences in opinions between republicans and democrats, but I think that both are making decisions that are not based on those core values. I need to look into what can be done to help out on this. I worry about small things that happen in my life, but I wonder if my time and energy might be better spent trying to make a difference. I wonder if I could make a difference. Maybe I try to get some money, and then the power to make a difference will come with that.

Morning Pages

Started writing morning pages today. Learned about them in the book The Artist Way. Three handwritten pages everyday. I used to do this back in the day, and it was one of the most creative times in my life. I want to get back to that creative burst.

Watching Charlie rose right now. He is interviewing Barak Obama. Can’t believe how intelligent he seems. I would love to have him run for president. I think that he would be a great leader. It probably won’t happen in ’08, so he will probably be corrupted by the system by the time he runs. It is hard to keep a positive attitude in such a bad system.

Give me a barn, and I’ll put on a show.

Just heard that line on Studio 60. I am in show business. I make TV shows. Just give me a place to show them, and I’ll make the magic happen.

I have taken the last couple of days off of work, so today what loaded with a bunch of small stuff that every one was waiting for. Tomorrow I am shooting an interview with a Edgar lee Masters expert. Should be fun.

Holy Shit

Bears come back from down 20 to win the game. They should have won it easy, but I am happy for any win. Offense sucked. Grossman sucked. Defense scores 2 TDs, and Hester returns one for a TD.

Shot some of the video with Guia today. Didn’t have lights, but I think that it turned out pretty good. Still have a couple days left to shoot with her.

Geisha and Biscuits

Watched Memoirs of a Geisha tonight. I was looking for ideas for the shoot on Monday, but I don’t think that I will go for that same look. One of the line that I liked in the movie was talking about Geisha being a living work of art. I like the idea of living as your art. I don’t think that Geisha had it all that well.

Meg called tonight and we talked about a lot of things. I miss that girl. The thing about this town is that everyone leaves. I have made a lot of friends, but most have moved on. One thing that came up was a new life goal. Someday I want to sit down and eat biscuits with Sandra Bullock. Don’ know what it is about her, but I like it.

Friday the 13th

Well it is Friday the 13th, but nothing bad seemed to happen today. I went up to Chicago to pick up some more equipment. I picked up the tripod and field monitor. No excuses now. I am ready to start productions. First shoot is on Monday, a music video with Guia.

I would like to get things going this weekend. First thing to do is to start writing. Need to get a short film going.
