Not even Midnight

Not even midnight and I am back home too drunk to continue. Did a little pre-drinking during the Cowboys game, then went out to see Candy Foster play. Left after the first set to get some food from Mary Ann’s. Enjoyed both a lot, but now it is time to go to bed.

Good Night.

Good Night Out

Went out to see Kate Hathaway and Lucky Mulholland at the Iron Post tonight. Nice night for a Thursday. I love to go out and see live music. The local music is so good and the people are so nice. If I were to move, I think that I would miss some of that.

Got a nice email from Virginia today. She is fast becoming a good friend. I don’t really have enough good friends, so it is good to have another.

The Changes are Rolling On

I have made a couple of changes in my life lately. It seems to me that these small changes have started the ball rolling on many other good things. It is possible that the world, god, whatever is actually on our side and wants good things to happen. We make a small step and the world steps closer, meeting us in the middle. That would be something.

Saw a physicist on Charlie Rose tonight. She mentioned that there could be a different Brane where gravity is strong, and it is just weak on this brane. It has always seemed to me that gravity doesn’t fit with the other forces. Maybe they just have it wrong, and gravity isn’t a force. What if gravity were a dimension? I’ll think more on that.

Da Bears & Writing

Watched the Bears beat the Rams tonight on Monday night football. Obama did a fun little open to the show. He is just teasing us with his decision to run for president. It was funny.

Went to Eleanore’s writing group yesterday. It seems to be mostly novelist, and I am a poet, but that is OK. It will at least give me a deadline every week to get something written. It felt good getting back to writing. I often think that is where my true passion lies.

What a fucking night.

Went out to the Cowboy Monkey tonight. Ryan Groff started off the night, then Noah Harris, then Cameron McGill and lastly The Wandering Sons. Great talent tonight. Some of the best male vocalist in town all on the same stage on the same night. An $8 cover seemed well worth it for the show tonight.

Saw an old friend who I hadn’t seen in a couple of years, so that was a nice surprise also.

This week has been a very good one. Hopefully it is just the start of more good things to come.

Interviewed RC Raycraft

Interviewed RC Raycraft today for a Prairie Fire segment. It is nice to hear from local people who are successful in the same field that I am working in. I like his doc An Incident at Kickapoo Creek. Through Raycraft’s perseverance he has brought to life an interesting mystery that was this music festival. He is still finishing up his final edit, so you will still have to wait awhile for the premier of the film. If you get the chance to catch this film, give it a chance, and you will learn a little piece of history and be introduced to some interesting people.

Da Bears

Didn’t do much today besides watch football. Da Bears pulled off another win beating the Vikings 23-13. That win clinches the NFC North division for them. Grossman had a horrible game, but the defense and special teams scored some points. I don’t know about Grossman. He may have to go this year. He might be good later, but has been making a lot of mistakes lately.

Searching for Something

Been working on my new Website. It is at Searching for Something.net. It will be the home base for my interview podcast. Still some more work to do on the site, but I’ve put up a few new items on it. Put up a paypal donation area, and an Amazon store. I should get my recorder in this week and will be able to get started with the interviews. If anyone is reading this and has ideas of people who I should interview, please let me know. I am looking for a wide group of people to see if there is a wide variety of views when it comes to our place in the universe.

1st Storm

We got our first snow yesterday. The major snow hit to the west of us, so we didn’t get much here. Cold temps came with the snow. It was in 65 degrees just a few days ago and now it is in the low 20’s. I like the change of seasons. Makes me feel that life is changing. For every winter there is a spring.
