Spoon River

Went over to Eleanor’s to watch here Prairie Fire segment on Edgar Lee Masters. She had most of the cast there and some of the crew. It was a fun shoot and fun to get together and watch it. I really like the idea of event watching TV. It makes it fun to have a lot of people around.

I really think that Eleanore did a good job with it. I hope that she expands it to a longer program.

Great Show

Just saw a great show at the Iron Post. At least I think it was great. I am so fucking drunk right now I am not sure. The Winter Blanket started off the night, then Lucky Mulholland (their best show yet) and elsinore finished the evening. Fun, Fun, Fun.

I miss going out. I think that I am going to have to get back to going out more. I am constantly amazed at the music scene in this town. Any day of the week you are likely to be able to find a good show.

Hope all is well with the world. Peace, love, and all that stuff.

Diabetes

I found out that I have diabetes. It was kind of a shock at first. I didn’t really know much about the disease. I am having to change my lifestyle a lot. Different food and a lot more exercise. I also have to take an insulin shot every morning and check my blood sugar 3 or 4 times a day. I guess that really isn’t too much stuff. I have been wanting to get healthier anyway. Seems like this is the jump start that I needed. I have been walking a couple of miles a day since I found out (March 9th). I need to move that up to five miles at some point. Also need to eat fewer carbohydrates. The treatment does seem to be working though. Blood sugar has come down a lot, and I am feeling a lot better.

Lights, Camera, Action

Got some new strobe lights for my still photography. I’ll be shooting some band photos for Lucky Mulholland tomorrow afternoon. Hope it isn’t too cold out there. It is snowing right now, which might look nice in some photos, but I don’t know about the cold.

The Beatles

Went to the Iron Post for the Beatles Tribute night. It was fun to get out again. Some of the best singers in Champaign were there. Great songs, Great Singers, and no smoking. Amazing night of music. Thanks go out to Larry Gates for putting this together.

Vagina Monologues

Saw the play with Virginia today at the Lincoln Hall Theater. It was a fun play, with important messages mixed in. The audience was great. It was so good to be in a room filled with that many strong women. I haven’t been in many situations where there there was that much positive female energy all around me. It was amazing for me, so I imagine it must have been even better for them. I am glad that I was there to experience it.

Sorry Ladies

You will have to give up your dreams of being with Brian Paris. I am currently dating Virginia Steffen. I have been having so much fun with her lately (sorry for the blog neglect). She is a great girl and a really good friend. We have so much in common. I could not have hoped for a better person.

But don’t worry ladies; I am sure that you will find someone out there. Maybe not as good as me, but maybe someone close. 🙂

Mike Stone

Got to see Mike on Friday. He was back from Italy for a short visit. It was great to see him and his girl Dona. It has been so long since I have seen him, but it felt like it hadn’t been any time since we were together. He has always been a good friend, but we have never been able to get together for very long. It would be nice to work with him sometime. Stone is one of the few people that I have worked with that I continue to keep in contact with after they leave town.
