Went to the Pow Wow at Starved Rock. I am shooting some footage for Virginia’s doc that she is doing on the Midwest SOARRING Foundation.. It was a beautiful day, great weather, and nice to be close to nature. I have a longing to figure out my spiritual self. I have some ideas of what I think, but I am still searching.

Heading back last night, we hit Mugsy’s in Bloomington. Love that place. I was so tired, that I just wanted to stay there and relax. But we came home and it was good to get some sleep.

Just finished watching Grey’s Anatomy. Kind of depressing, to say the least. Seems like everything is falling apart. Meredith and Derek on the outs. Burke and Christina’s wedding falls apart. And lets not even get started about George. WTF. Not what I wanted to see tonight. I was hoping for something good to come out of one of the story lines. I needed something a little more up beat. It is going to be a long summer. Hope it works out in the Fall.

I just found out about Jott.com.  You can call in and they will translate you message to text.  Seems like a great feature.  I would like to set up a blog that I can just post to using Jott.  Wouldn’t that be neat to just call in from anywhere and have it appear on a blog.

I am using Adobe Contribute to write this entry.  I want to know if it is better than just posting using the regular interface.

Saw Terminus Victor last week in the Beer Garden at Mike n Molly’s. I sometimes forget how great T-Vic is live. They just put on a fun show. Full of energy, excitement, and great music. They played a bunch of new tunes. I am liking the sound with the live drummer.

The beer garden is the best venue in town. Too bad that it is only available during good weather. There were a lot of the music regulars out there. It seems like summer starts the first time I see a show out there. Everyone seems to love getting out of their winter dull drums. I think shows get an extra energy when they are out in the fresh air.

Put up a new episode on my Dead Poets Podcast. Read Edgar Allen Poe’s “Eldorado.” I also redid the look of the site. I still have some more to do, but it looks a lot better than it did. I also submitted to itunes. We will see if I get any hits from that.

I just started up a new poetry podcast. It is called DeadPoetsPodcast.com. I will be reading a different public domain poem each week. Maybe when things get up and running I will bring in some guest readers to talk about poems that they like.

Just turned 33 on Saturday. It was nice to spend the day with Virginia. I was pretty positive about this birthday. It seems like good things are happening in my life right now.

I told my boss that I will be leaving. Won’t be until July though. That is a lot of notice to give. I hope that they can get someone in to get them trained with some of the stuff that I do at the station. It has been a really good thing working there, but I am ready to start my own projects now.

Finally I am moving out of this town. I am going up to Chicago. Champaign isn’t bad, but I like the energy of a bigger city. It will be nice to have all of the options that a major metro can offer. Not sure of what all I am going to be doing, but it is exciting to be taking another step. I am sort of stuck down here. I feel like my career has sort of gone as far as it can without making some changes.

Apple announced a new version of Final Cut at NAB today. Looks like a lot of good stuff in there. I am really looking forward to multiple formats on the same time line. They also have a new compressed HD codec that is supposed to be amazing. Can’t wait to see how it really looks. They added Color, a new color correction application, to the Final Cut Studio package. Looks like it is a new version of Final Touch. Not bad for a free add on.

Just found a website that is dedicated to doing voice recordings of Public Domain books. I really like the idea. I am thinking about recording some stuff myself. You can check it out yourself at LibriVox.

Watching Dirty Dancing right now. I have always liked that movie. I am inspired to make a movie. Also want to go out dancing. Dancing is the thing, everything else is bullshit.

Meg came down with her friend Rosie. We went out drinking at Guido’s and then dancing. It has been a long time since I have let loose. I really enjoyed it. It’s a good workout too. Ha. And I am a great dancer too. Ha. The best dancer maybe. Ha.

It was good to meet Rosie. She seems like a nice girl. I’ll have to get up to Chi Town to see them sometime.
