Obama, Huckabee win Iowa

Great night for Obama. I have long been a supporter of him and think that he would make a great candidate. Hopefully this is just the start of something fun.

I was hoping that McCain would do better, but I guess a tie for 3rd isn’t too bad. Ron Paul even pulled in quite a few votes.

Writer’s Strike

The late night shows are back on the air. Letterman signed a separate contract with the writers, so he has a full staff back with his show. Leno and Conan are continuing without writers. I can’t believe that actors are going to go on those shows. Bob Saget is on Conan right now. I don’t think that I can support any of these people. Go Writers!!

Damn it’s Cold

Got really cold out there today. I didn’t even venture out into that mess. Hope that tomorrow is better. It did give me a chance to record a couple of things for some websites that I am working on. I will probably go back and redo them to tighten it up a little. Some of my other projects are coming together. I will also be doing some blog design and hosting for people, so if you need a blog let me know and I can set you up.

The Pats are Perfect

Patriots beat the Giants to finish off their perfect regular season. They aired the game on the NFL network, NBC, and CBS. That was the first time that a game had aired on so many stations. It was a hell of a game. I thought that the Giants might pack it in and rest their player, since the game didn’t mean anything for them. Not only did they start the game with their regulars, but they played hard for the whole game.

Now they just need to finish it off with a run through the playoffs.

Home again?

Went to the Lorenzo Goetz, Temple of Low Men reunion show at the Cowboy Monkey (Champaign). Both bands broke up over a year ago, but were back for a couple of nights of fun. There were a lot of the same people that have showed up in the past. It felt a little different than before, but in some ways nothing had changed.

Elsinore started off the show with a new drum set and a new sound. It was a different feeling to see them more from their more folksy feels to straight out rock. I heard some one in the audience say that Ryan Groff has a pretty good voice. I guess they weren’t expecting an something like that from an opening band. It is funny to see people preconceived ideas come out at a show. Ryan has a smooth sexy voice that makes all the girls adore him.

Lorenzo Goetz was back to their fun jumping ways. Everyone was having a great time. I was quickly becoming intoxicated, and that just made it more fun. If Ryan is smooth sexy then Larry is more like a night of dirty sex. One that leaves you completely satisfied and longing for that night for years to come.

Temple of Low Men was back together for the topper of the night. Brandon has one of the strongest voices that I have ever heard. To continue with the sex comparisons, Brandon is like a long weekend of sweaty sex that may bring about glimpses of enlightenment and leaves everyone exhausted for days.

Not a bad way to spend a night.

Business in Champaign

Went to Champaign this weekend to get some work done. Things are coming along on a few projects and I talked to Eleanore about a couple more that I am just starting.

I still have a lot of friends down there, and it was fun to see some of them. I have met a lot of new people here in Chicago, but I need to find some more people to work with. There must be a lot of talented people that I have to meet. I think that should be one of my priorities for the new year.

Merry Christmas to All!

And to all a good night.

Saw Virginia today. I am not much of a Christmas person, so I didn’t really do much in the way of that. I am not a present person, but I did buy myself a few books. I want to bring back my book a week reading habit that I had when I was younger (and more productive). I might even put reviews in the blog so you know what I have been reading.

I am off to sleep now. I’ve got an early start tomorrow.

Another drunken post

Went out with DJ Psycho Bitch tonight. She is great. Knows just want a person needs. I needed to get a little drunk. Went to Sky Bar and then to Sound Bar. Lots of Bars in there. All I know is that I have great hair. At least Eric loves it. Whoever Eric is. It was really fun and really needed. Thanks Val for a fun night. I am still a little drunk, but having a good time. I think I need to eat a little something. Maybe a chicken tender or two. Lloyd sucks, but Val brought a sausage pizza and I was happy. I had fun.

Bitches!!

The Big 10

No, I am not talking about the college conference; I am talking about my near range plans for the future. I have about 24 weeks before my child will be born, and I need to get a few projects done before that time. I have selected 10 big projects that I hope to get done. I am not sure how each of them will turn out, but I am positive that at least one of them will provide a good living for me in the future. So here we go:

National TV Show: I have been working on a TV show for the last couple of years with a couple of colleagues. We have a couple of pilots shot and have distribution secured. Right now we are looking for money. We are pretty far along on this one. My work is pretty much done until we go into full production.

Get Healthy: I have been slacking off a little with my health. It is important with my diabetes to get back on track with that one. The weather is a mess so I need to join a gym and work out at least 5 days a week. Don’t need to do too much, just walking and a little strength training. Also need to eat a little better. I will probably publish a blog that will chart my progress.

Children’s Book: I have been writing a children’s book. I have done a couple of revisions. I need to work with an illustrator and then see if I can sell this thing. If I can’t find a publisher I need to put something together myself.

Run for President: I am working on a fictional run for president. I have the concept down, ideas for sketches, and the basic website built. I need to write, produce, shoot and edit the sketches. Should be fun if not profitable.

Sketch Show: I want to write and produce a sketch comedy show. I need to write some more sketches, different styles, and maybe a song or two. Then I need a director, location, actors and that type of thing.

Monologues: I have been wanting to write a series of monologues for some of my acting friends. I really like the form of short monologues. It is an interesting challenge to bring across information and an emotional change with limited time and character.

Screenplay: I have the basic outline for a screenplay that I have been working on for a couple of years. I haven’t been able to understand the characters as much as I would have liked, but it turns out that my life is going more toward that fictional story that I thought of years ago. Maybe I was seeing a glimpse of my future. Whatever the case, I understand a lot more about what the characters are going through now.

Interviews: I have always loved Charlie Rose. I like the idea of being curious and asking questions of people who interest me. I think that I will focus on the unordinary (my own word). People who are choosing a different way of living and thinking.

Photography: Take pictures of interesting people, and places. Put together a website, a book or maybe a show. Even if I just put them up in my apartment and invite friends over. I could also add to my stock photo and video portfolio.

Teaching Video DVD: I have taught quite a few students the basics of video work. I’ll take that lesson plan and bring it out on a podcast or DVD.

That should be more than enough to keep me busy for the next half year. 🙂
