New Night, New Improv-ers

I mentioned before that my Improv class on Tuesdays got canceled because it didn’t have enough people. We were fortunate that the remaining students were about to move together to join the Thursday night class. It was great to see the old classmates, but it was a little awkward in the beginning with the new people. We were a tight group that was invading their tight group. We did get a chance to get to know each other a little tonight, and I think that we will bond in time.

What I do want to mention is how good this new class was. Some of them were down right amazing. There were a couple parts of games that were as good as anything I have seen on the stages at Second City. I was impressed, and it made me a little frightened. I will have to step it up a notch if I want to add to this ensemble. I was pretty tense today, so I wasn’t as good as I could have been. I think the best thing about working with good people is that it pushes you to go to levels that you hadn’t thought possible. The other good thing about the Second City approach is that if everyone if pulling their own weight, it makes everything just flow together and makes everything better.

I am looking forward to the next few classes.
