A weekly recap of the things that happened in my so called life.

Half Year

Well the year is half way over. It has been a busy one for me. Classes, writing, moving, working, and a new baby. Work projects are just finishing up. I feel like I finally have time to catch my breath.

After a quick break, I am going to have to get going on new projects for the rest of the year. Not sure if I want to stick with the freelance work or find a more permanent job. I like the flexibility of the freelance, but it seems like I am spending 3/4 of my time looking for the work and only 1/4 of the time doing it. I really enjoy the work part of it, but not so much the looking part. The money is certainly a lot better with the freelance work, so I am still not sure of what I want to do.

Week 8: Been Gone

I have been gone for a couple of weeks. We taped the video show with Chris. I think that it went well. I started a new company to help people out with Documentaries. I call it Doc Helpers.

I think that I was away from Chicago for too long. It was very easy to fall into old habits, and I am just now getting back into my Chicago frame of mind. I will have to be more vigilant to not allow the old habits to creep back.

Week 6: Work Related

Final Cut group, set building, and a visit to WILL. Not a bad week. It is interesting to see what I am doing from a new perspective. I like the independent stuff. I know that whatever happens it will be up to me. Good or Bad it is on me. I think that those are good odds, but maybe I am biased. 🙂

Week 4: Don’t Worry, Be Happy

Realized how important fun is in my life. I have always had contradicting feelings about what is important in the world. Having so much fun these last few weeks has made me realize that is what I really want out of life. I just want to have fun. That, I think, is my purpose here on earth. Everyday needs to be a great one. It surprises me how little I care about changing the world right now. I really don’t want people telling me what to do, so I guess that I can’t really be one to work on changing the world in some way that I feel is better. I think that I will just have some fun, and leave other people to do whatever they want to do. Might seem kind of shallow, but it really is a truth that I have been afraid of realizing for a long time.

So, for the week in review: I had fun.

Week 3: Funny, Cubbies, Other Baseball Stuff

This was the mark of my first steps into the acting/writing/improve chapter of my life. The Second City classes were great. I really feel like this is the start of something.

Lots of Baseball things. Cubs made it into first place (back down to a game out now). I went to another game. Bonds jacks out 755. Glavine wins 300. Not bad, not bad.

Also did some more exploring of the city (which I didn’t write about). And another trip to the Art Institute.

Overall not the best week ever, but definitely a good one.

Week 2: New Toys, Champaign Trip, Street Fest

Here is my 2nd week in Review. Again it turned out to be a great one. Batting 1.000 for my weeks up here in Chi Town.

Let’s take a look back:
New Toys: iPhone, Camera
Good Movies: Sicko, Once
Good Friends: Jason, Larry and Alison in Champaign
Music and Dancing: Chad Dunn provided the dance beats and the Street Fest provided some good music.

Week In Review (Chicago: Week 1)

So VH1 called an told me that I was having the best week ever. Not really, but it feels like it. I have done so much this week that it feels like I have a completely different life. I hope every week turns out to be this good. I am going to make that one of my goals each week.

So here we go: (Chicago: Week 1)
Art Institute: saw some great photography.
Abbey Pub: had a great meal and saw some great music.
Da Cubs: Cubs win and Barry hits a couple out.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s: saw Deep Blue Something and really liked a lot of their stuff.
Second City: signed up for classes and went to orientation.
New Camera: ordered a new video camera that should come in this week.

Not bad at all.
