Went for a walk tonight. It was pretty cold out there, but I like it a lot. Don’t understand those Southern California people who never get to experience winter. There is something renewing about the changing of the seasons. The constant change gives you a chance to re-evaluate how your life is going. If it was always the same, the time could just pass by and you would wake up an old man. I may be getting old, but at least I am aware of it.

Slutty Cat
Seems like a cat gave birth to puppies. Must have been sleeping with the stray dog in the neighborhood. Slutty Cat.
Brian’s life lesson #1 – if you are a sexy cat, stay away from the stray dogs that are just hanging around. You can do better.
Speaking of cats – How about that Tom-Kat wedding tomorrow? Big fan of Dawson’s Creek, but this don’t seem right to me. That Tom Cruise seems to be a little too into this relationship. Katie still seems a little naive. Maybe I am completely wrong, and they are happy as hell. I guess that I shouldn’t be down on someone else’s happiness. So best wishes to you crazy fucking bastards.
A Higher Calling
Been thinking that I have some things that I need to say. I have been searching lately for a deeper meaning in life. Maybe I am not the only one. Maybe by asking questions I can find some answers. That is that thought behind my new interview show. I will be asking people of all walks of life about their searches in life. I call it “Searching for Something …” and I will start production on it soon.
Thought of the Day
It is easy to criticize others, but hard to come up with answers yourself.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s
Started the car to come home from work. “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” came on the radio. I like that song a lot. Don’t know about basing a relationship on liking the same movie. Seems like there may be more important things out there.
Don’t really know what the criteria should be. I know that there is a difference in woman that I meet. It is pretty easy to tell who would be good to marry and others who wouldn’t. Don’t have any criteria that separates them, but I am able to tell them apart within minutes of meeting someone. The good ones seem to be a pretty small percentage of the women that I meet. It still isn’t enough though. Of the ones that are marriable, there are few that I get to know well enough to want to marry. I have met many nice people who I like and would like to hang out with, but the step further doesn’t come around very often. I wonder if everyone has these same experiences. If they do, I am surprised that there are so many marriages going on out there. How do you find that right one for you? I guess that I am not surprised at the number of divorces. I am glad that my parents seem to have found happiness in each other. Gives me hope that there is someone out there for me.
Finding a good woman is still on my list of life goals. I don’t know when I will accomplish that one.
Hump Day
Happy Hump day. Only two more days of work if you work in a Monday through Friday job. What ever that is.
Don’t know what I am up to right now. I have been busy the last few weeks, but it seems that I am in a lull right now. I still have a lot of things that need to get done, but I haven’t been doing them. My back has been hurting on and off, so I have been taking it a little easy. Probably for the better. Things will kick in again here shortly.
Soda Pop
Gave up soda pop on Saturday. I was drinking way too much of the sugar water.
Fraggle Rock is Cool.
Big, Big fan of the Fraggles. Nice ass show. Don’t remember who my favorite was. Jason’s favorite was uncle traveling Matt, because he found out lots of cool stuff. Jason also thinks that Nate Jones should guest star in the next episode. Brian is Drunk.
Da Bears!
Borat, Great Music
Went out tonight with Jason. He just left his job, so it was a nice night to get out. Went to see Borat. It was a funny movie, but not a greatly funny movie. It just goes to show how few funny movies there are if this is getting such a great turnout. The jokes were pretty low brow. I like a little more thought in my comedies.
Then we went to the Triple Whip CD release party. Night starts off with Lucky Mullholland. I had never seen Brian with a backing band. It was great to see him with the full sound that is on his recorded work. He seemed to be more at ease with the company also. The crowd was great and showed a lot of love. Next up was The New Ruins. I had never heard them before. I liked the sound, but the vocals were a little garbled. Triple Whip came up next at 11:11 on Nov. 11th. Holly and Jane are wonderful. I don’t even remember what it was like with Santanu. Love the way Holly plays base, and Jane is a monster behind the drum kit. Sometimes she would just close her eyes and go. I picked up the CD, but haven’t had a chance to listen to it. I hope that it captures their live sound. Last up came Water Between Continents. I haven’t seen them in a while, but I was glad that I stayed for them tonight. Love the play between Brian and Nick. They seemed like they were having a fun time up there.
Ed Bradley, Jack Palance
Watched a special on Charlie Rose remembering Ed Bradley. Probably my favorite 60 minute guy. It was interesting to hear of his life. He was always a loner, apart from others. Couple of failed marriages, and late in life finds the right woman. I am often the loner, too. Hope I find the right person a little earlier than he did. He did seem to be happy though, and he had a good career doing what he wanted. He said that he loved his time in Paris in the late 60’s. I need to get out and see the world. There is so much out there.
Jack Palance died. Loved his spunk on the Oscars. I loved City Slickers. And since I get all of my wisdom from movies I love the talk of the meaning of life. There is only one thing that you need to know about the meaning of life. He never told what it was, and I am still looking for what that one thing is.
