Entertainment

Got a new TV today. Not as big as I wanted, but it is HD. It is a very pretty picture. Going to have to get the Movie Monday tradition going again. Those were fun times when I was living with Larry.

Also signed up for some bartending classes today. It fits into my getting to know people goal, and it is a very flexible job. Should be able to make money to live, meet new people, and still have time for writing and acting and going out. It will also make for some fun Martini parties at the house.

More Classes, More Writing, More Drinking

Fall classes started tonight. Judy is my improv teacher. She is really nice and full of energy. It is getting a lot more intense. We are still having fun, but I think that there will be a lot more work involved from here on out.

The writing class is the same people from last sessions class, and is taught by Nancy Beckett. She seems like a good teacher. I am sure that we will learn a lot from her. I am really excited that we will be writing so much. It is looking like a sketch a week. This will definitely get me into the swing of things.

Went out drinking after class. Andrew and I got talking about getting together and doing some more writing. Looks like we are going to get a small group together and see what we can do with that. I would love to have enough for a show by the end of the year.

Purpose of Life

I have had to re-evaluate my life lately. I read a blog about how to discover your life purpose. Here is what I came up with so far.

Experience the pleasures of the physical world.
Connect with the universal energy.
Keep moving – Always learning, Always Teaching.
Pay attention to everyones stories and characters.
Create.

It isn’t perfect yet, but it is close to what I want from life.

For me, being connected to the the earth is most important to me. Art, Music, Nature, People, Food. All of the things of the earth are connected. Which brings us to the next item. We are all surrounded by a universal energy. Every thing and person is part of that energy. If you can connect to that magic will happen. In order to progress in life you must keep moving forward. If you stand still, the world will quickly pass you by. The best way to move forward is by learning from those who have more experience than you and to teach those who don’t. This keep you in constant contact with other people. They say that everyone has a story, and I think that it is my job to be a facilitator of conversation. Learn and tell peoples stories. All this leads to the act of Creation. This is the most sacred of acts.

New Classes

Finished up my improv class tonight. It was such a fun class with a bunch of great people. I was happy to find out that they will have enough people to continue the call at the same time next level. They also agreed to have to Writing class continue on Tue. So it looks like the same schedule for the rest of the year. That should be fun and it will be good to continue to build with the same people.

New Furniture

Bought some new furniture for the apartment. The place will be very nice when we get everything going. The furniture will be delivered on Thursday. Can’t wait.

Still sick. Need to get some sleep.

Sick

I am sick today. Don’t know if it was the drinking last night or the bad sleep for the last month. I need to take better care of myself. My life is going great, but it won’t matter if I don’t stay healthy.

Writing Class

Didn’t have improv class this week. We will meet next week (which is the off week) to make up for it. Teacher was doing some show somewhere.

Writing class went great. I wrote a sketch that was OK but missing something. I had Collin and anther guy read it. Collin did a great job, and I got really good feedback on the sketch. But most importantly, I was able to see where I went wrong. I now know how to fix it, and should have a pretty good sketch out of it pretty soon.

After class we all went across the street to talk and drink. I am really fucking drunk right now. Man that was a great group of people. All of the sketches were really good, and Andy was an amazing teacher. He told me to just go for it when it comes to putting up my own show. I really want to do that now. Just write it and fucking do it. I know I can find a cast, so why not. I know that the first show will not be great, but that is the only way to learn how to direct something. I am so fucking excited about that idea. Every week life gets better, and I am moving closer to great things. Makes me really want to get up in the morning.

Another great thing, is my roommate McKenzie cleaned up the apartment and moved the furniture around. It made such a difference. Changing your surroundings can change your attitude. I am feeling wonderful (or drunk) (or both).

Good night.
